Permanent
The musty smell of elephants and stale popcorn. The flash of bright colors in the chasing spotlights. And high in the under-peaks of the tent swings the trapese. It was three weeks ago that we turned the swing loose and began the twisting, dizzying free fall toward our next firm grip. For three weeks we’ve been hanging in mid-air (and the crowd gasps!) waiting for something permanent to grab onto. Still nothing. Still hanging there. But the view is remarkable!
Abundant thanks for all of the encouraging messages from friends around the world that have stopped in here to send us their thoughts and prayers.
It seems every song I write these days has something to do with wind or water or floods or rain. I suppose things will be this way for a while. In the meantime, head over to the myspace site and enjoy a new song I’ve written during the processing of all of this. The worktape is there listed as “For Katrina.” The song is actually called “Permanent” and will be on a new Music For The Soul project for Hurricane Katrina Relief. Nothing in our world seems permanent these days but our God is…steady and solid and true. You have demonstrated that to me through your kind words.
Peace,
James
