Tealy Songcast Episode III

TealySongcastIt’s finally time for a new episode of the Tealy Songcast. Episode 3 features the song “His Glory My Reward” with clips of the original worktape and demo recording. There is also a section of “Songs in Progress” with worktapes or demos of songs I’ve written in the last couple of weeks.

New episodes will continue to be added as quickly as I can carve out time to record them. The great thing about subscribing to podcasts on iTunes is that you will automatically get new episodes whenever they are published. You don’t need to check back to my site to see if there’s a new one (or pester me about getting new episodes published!). Do you have to have an iPod to listen? NO! But isn’t about time you join us cool kids and BUY ONE. You can also just listen from your computer so click on the link above to download iTunes and then come back and CLICK HERE to start listening.

New Music Recommendation of the Week

The Gabe Dixon Band - Live At World Cafe (Live) - EP

GABE DIXON BAND - LIVE AT THE WORLD CAFE (EP) - It’s five gems set together in a live project that really sparkles. I heard Gabe’s song “All is Well” in a promo for a new NBC TV show. I was so grabbed by the melody that I immediately googled the title and found the Gabe Dixon Band. Turns out these guys are Nashvillians, transplants from elsewhere but currently calling Nash-vegas home. Some co-writing with CCM lyricsmith Wayne Kirkpatrick has helped these songs rise above the ordinary. Great musicianship and great songs. Check it out! Clicking on the cover art to the left opens the CD in iTunes. If you don’t have iTunes yet you can download it HERE.

Crash

Sorry I’m late on an update and a songcast. Two weeks ago I dropped my computer on the rocks in my driveway and the hard-drive freaked out. I’ve had a little trouble rebuilding my world, reinstalling software, etc. Can I say, once again, how amazing Macs are! I had a harddrive crash on a PC a few years ago and I lost everything. This Powerbook I’m typing on is a HOSS of a machine. I can’t believe how easy this recovery has been. Full updates in the next few days. I swear!

New Music Recommendation of the Week

KT Tunstall - Eye to the Telescope

KT TUNSTALL - EYE TO THE TELESCOPE. How is it possible that the UK could be such a small island and yet SO MUCH great music could be born there. Something in the fish-n-chips? Drink more tea? Okay she’s Scottish. Surely it’s not the haggis. Whatever the soil these songs were born out of they are rich with melodic power and lyrical depth. “My heart knows me better than I know myself so I’m gonna let it do all the talking.” That opening line off of the first radio single “Black Horse and a Cherry Tree” was enough to make me buy this record. Great music deserves support. Give this girl a lift. (Click on the CD cover art to open the record in iTunes and preview it).
