New Music Recommendation of the Week

KT TUNSTALL - EYE TO THE TELESCOPE. How is it possible that the UK could be such a small island and yet SO MUCH great music could be born there. Something in the fish-n-chips? Drink more tea? Okay she’s Scottish. Surely it’s not the haggis. Whatever the soil these songs were born out of they are rich with melodic power and lyrical depth. “My heart knows me better than I know myself so I’m gonna let it do all the talking.” That opening line off of the first radio single “Black Horse and a Cherry Tree” was enough to make me buy this record. Great music deserves support. Give this girl a lift. (Click on the CD cover art to open the record in iTunes and preview it).

I saw her on the Brit Awards (they show all that BBC stuff up here in Canada), and she rocked…she did a solo on the drums, too, and was really good!
She won something, I forget what. She was up against Kate Bush, and when she gave her speech, she said, “I’m going to break the head of this statue off and give it to Kate Bush for a place to store some of her overflowing musical genius.”
That was sweet, I thought.
Geez, I’m random today.

No WAY! We’ve been listening to her a bunch, too, AND I love that “Grey’s Anatomy” features her all the time!
Peace,
