May Update

Good Cup Show A big thanks to old friends and new that came out to the Nashville shows over the last couple of weeks. It was fun to try some of these songs out live. It’s a strange new thing for me as an artist. I’ve written 40+ songs since we recorded “Echo” last Spring. I feel the pressure to play the songs from the last record, the familiar songs, but I really want to sing the things that are fresh and reflective of these current days in my journey. The Nashville shows gave me a no-pressure chance give oxygen to some new borns and I had a blast. It was great to have so many friends along for that ride. Much love to MICHAEL OLSON for joining me on percussion (pictured above chillin in the corner). This guy is not only a great talent but a humble man of God and I felt honored to work with him. Go buy MICHAEL’S RECORD right now and share the love.

I’m counting down the days till summer. It will be fun to be back to speaking to students regularly. I’ll be in South Carolina for a couple of weeks with FUGE CAMPS. Then I’m off to Kentucky for a couple of weeks with CROSSINGS AT THE CREEK. Then I’ll spend a couple of weeks with some talented students in Botswana (just north of South Africa). We’re doing AIDS/HIV education with Orphans and Middle School students, a camp for some missionary kids and I’ll be doing a couple of concerts in the evenings. Exhausting, exhilirating! Can’t wait.

I’ve posted some of the new songs we’ve recorded with Monroe on THE MYSPACE SITE. It’s new recordings of “Permanent” and “Foreign is Familiar.” Head over to the CONTACT PAGE and let me know you stopped by.

Peace,
James

    James,

Dude, I am so glad I hooked you and Michael up at DNOW. If you do a CD together, just 5%, that would be plenty! haha. I used your song, “His glory, my reward” at a college retreat I spoke at last week in Panama City. It was the perfect ending for that session. Every session focused on being a servant. Thanks for the chords. It’s a #1 single on MY chart! Have a good one!
