A Preview

Next week I’ll have some new music to recommend. In the meantime I thought I’d give you a preview. Next Tuesday, Rocketown artist, Michael Olson, releases a CD with some Tealy tunes on it. There’s A PREVIEW of one of the tunes Michael and I wrote up on HIS WEBSITE and the first single from the record is available AT iTUNES. I have great respect for Michael and I think you’re going to dig his record. Check out the previews and I’ll have a link up when it releases next week.

Worship Leaders, Check This Out

Tim Hughes and Al Gordon - Worship Central PodcastWORSHIP CENTRAL PODCAST –
I stumbled across this great podcast the other day I wanted to share with ya. Many of you have heard me introducing the worship song “God of Justice” over the last year. It’s a Tim Hughes song that I found on his passionforyourname website. PassionforYourName has now become WORSHIP CENTRAL and it’s full of great resources, challenge and inspiration for worship leaders and worship writers. Clicking on the image to the right will open their podcast in iTunes. The podcast is hosted by Tim Hughes and Al Gordon and includes new songs and discussions of the songwriting process as well as challenging interviews with worship leaders, ministers, and other great Christian thinkers. Enjoy!

New Music Recommendation of the Week

Switchfoot - Oh! Gravity.SWITCHFOOT – Oh! Gravity. It was 1997 when I was thumbing through a sample box of CD’s and found Switchfoot hiding under a pile of Christian rock mediocrity. I’m my office I listened to a couple of songs and wondered at the lyrical depth of the then 19 year old surf punks from San Diego. 10 years later, Switchfoot has released their best work ever. The songwriting has continued to mature and these guys now rock with confidence and authority. I’m guessing this project will reach it’s zenith in early Spring when we’re all hungry to roll down our windows and blow out our six inch car stereo speakers with some feel good rock-n-roll. [Clicking on the album art to the left will open the project in the iTunes store.]
